What's happening in
Shenzhen Yantian-Shekou terminal?
ln view of the evolving port congestion situation at Shenzhen, we would like to provide an update of the overall situation.
Yantian, serving 100 ships weekly as one of the busiest ports in the world, has been partially shut for the past week because of a COVID-19 outbreak. Given that Yantian processed 13.34 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in 2020, this slowdown will further hit lean and struggling supply chains.
Here's the official notice from Yantian Port.
I. Yantian terminal will stop accepting full container gate-in from 00:00 May 28 to 23:59 May 30 (China time)
II. Yantian terminal will start to accept full container gate-in from 00:00 May 31, but only applicable for containers planned for the sailings within 3 days before ETA Yantian. The policy will be carried from May 31 to June 06.
Here's the official notice from SheKou Port.
Shekou terminal will start to accept full container gate-in which is applicable for containers planned for the sailings within 5 days before ETA Shekou. The policy will be carried from 00:00 June 1.
Some shipments will be affected by the restriction and loaded onto the next sailing. We are closely monitoring the situation with the terminal on when cargo operations can come back to normal.
